Electronics Sony and Component

    I ahve a 20 inch Sony Flat TRinitron TV, it has component, does that mean it supports 480p?

    I would guess it is 480i but you could try doing a search with your model number to try and find out for sure.

    its KV-20FS100, but i dont find anything, im asking because i have that xbox component hdtv thing, and it has options that ask if ur tv supports 480p or i (dont rembmer which one), 720p, and 1080i. and If I ahve 480 it will make it look better.

    It looks like this set only supports standard component video.

    When you say component are you talking RGB? I have never seen a TV with RGB that could not do at least 480p since that would be the minimum. Most DVD players have RGB that are 480p and that is what most TV's are built for. If the set is higer end (higher formats) then it will have DVI or HDMI.

    The easiest way to test is to just try it. If it cannot sync you will know. :eeek:

    RGB = component = VGA
    DVI = HDMI

    Techincally, yes, but they are very different connectors. What I meant is that many people call single RCA for video (yellow RCA) component video. As you know they are not compatable.

    The yellow RCA is composite.

    no im talkign about component, green cable, blue cable, and red cable. COMPONENT, ok, so...

    You have RGB with sync-on-green.
    There are adapters available to convert VGA (RGB with separate syncs) to component (RGB with sync-on-green).
