I would definately go for the graphics upgrade, its 17 quid but in the long term it could be alot saved. I know shes prolly not into major gaming and stuff with a rig like that but tbh the 5200s really do suckass..

The semprons seem like fairly nice lil processors and as long as u dont wanna stretch the system to far will prolly hold out fairly nicely.. Just a weird name :/

As for the dvdrw, thats personal preference i guess, is she ever gonna have the need to write a dvd??

Yeah i think you have a point. Although she wownt be doing much gaming, she will be doing plenty of graphics work.

I read that the semperon's were just re badged low end athlonXPs.. dont know if theres much truth to this.

I think the dvd writer is abit overkill as the cdr will handle all the document backups she needs to do.

Why's everyone picking the 5200s atm! :waah: I'm running COD 1024x786 at full settings it's perfectly playable, don't notice any problems. They're better than you think, really...and passive!
Semprons, afaik, are identicle to Athlon XPs, but they come in different speeds, that's all!
