I probably would have cried at some of the movies you guys have mentioned, but i'm emotionally detached, so no crying for me.
Forrest Gump, The Green Mile, Grave of The Fireflies, City of Angels, Monsters Inc.... probably a few more but none come to my mind just now. Yeah I know - I'm a sissy Cheers Fred
Only two: "The Green Mile" gave me a huge lump in my throat, but I totally lost it at the end of "Big Fish."
I read a synopsis of the original script (quite a bit different from the final film). That had a really powerful heartstring ending. Other films: - Gattaca. - Blade Runner ("All these moments will be lost... like tears in the rain" --that line was improvised on the day by Rutger Hauer, by the way)
I'm really shocked by the amount of people who have said Armageddon. I mean it is a Bruckheimer film, they are hardly known for being emotive are they? actually now that i think about it, when Goose dies in Top gun is kinda
Not sure if this counts strictly but the final episode of Farscape left me as shattered as the final of Blake's 7 did. And they managed to do it all over again with D'Argo in the Peacekeeper Wars mini/movie.
Films that have made me weep like a girl... Shawshank Redemption, Armageddon, Moulin Rouge (although I was getting divorced at the time so I should be forgiven ) City of Angels, The Rock (when the Navy Seals get killed in the shower room) Leaving Las Vegas, 50 First Dates, A Beautiful Mind, Born on the 4th of July, Japanese Story, Love Actually Plus some I can't remember.. I am an emotional wreck
It depends what mood I'm in when watching a film as to whether I'll cry or not. I cried at the end of moulin rouge the second time I watched it, cos I actually bothered to think '****, he loved her and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her n she just died in his arms!' I cried once in forrest gump when forrest tried to help jenny in the car. I cried once at the end of watership down, poor bunnies! I cried twice at My Girl, when she runs into the funeral parlour. The first time cos' she was so upset. The second cos I realised just how god awful Macaulay Culkins death bed and matching outfit were. The one thing that still brings a tear to my eyes everytime, even tho I've not seen it for a while, was a short animation called 'Grandpa' that I used to watch when I was little - it's of a similar style to raymond briggs animation (snowman etc) and it's a really beautiful little animation, with great kids imagination and fun - but at the end, grandpa dies and it just finishes me off cos it just hits a nerve with me about my own grandpa .
first for me!!!!! just watched romeo and juliet for like the 20th time (modern one with leonardo) except this time i was kinda eye watering on the really happy parts and sad, but the ending took me over the edge
Wow yeah thats happened to me to, its the only action / natural disaster type of film where thats happened.
i dont think that ive ever actually cried over a film, well ... not a depressive, moan-y cry. however, the first time i saw "the gods must be crazy" i was literally rolling in the floor, laughing so hard that i actually cried. I also farted. being how as this was a church lock-in, it went over like the proverbial lead ballon.
