Okay Im looking at upgrading my aging 9600pro to something good.

The X800s look good but so do do the Nvidia cards, but As I dont keep up to date with all the new stuff anymore, which will fit in a SFF.

That is my main priority to which card is the best between them.

Personally, I'd go for an XFX 6800GT and this will fit in an SFF no problem :) . Either that, or one of the new 6600GT AGP cards.

Thats good. I just see pics of some cards requiring 2 slots on the rear of the case and obviously you dont have this option on SFFs

Been running a 6800GT @ Ultra in my SFF since day one. As long as you go for a GT using the referance cooler rather than a custom one you shouldnt have any issues fitting it in.

lil note... msi and gainward have one slot coolers on their 6800gt's.
Most 6800gt's still have two slot coolers (which is reference FYI).

Dont know what others have one slot coolers but these were the two i found when buyin.

Thats total tripe. The referance ULTRA cooler takes up 2 slots. The reference GT cooler takes 1 slot. As seen on XFX, PNY, Asus, Gigabyte etc as well as MSI and Gainward.

right who changed the internet.... they all said two slot cooler the last i looked... no i swear.

my bad, poor recollection, there must b more custom coolers being prefitted becuase every few gt's i looked at had a two slot cooler.

The 2 slot coolers on GT's tend to be one fitted with Artic coolers and copies (Like the Galaxy GT's)

    Okay,

Seems we have an answer of ATI X800 or NVIDIA 6800GT so long as it has a single cooler.

Guess its a case now of which ever I can get the cheaper deal on.

    Thanx all

Im still waiting for my BFG from pcwcomponentcentre.

Shows as ready to deliver, but has been saying that for 5 days. When I track order the only thing I see is that the courier has received details of the consignment, no collection or anything.

It was meant to arrive by today as well.

Update - well Ive been let down - no card for me, so have ordered an Inno3d one instead

I'm waiting for them to come back in stock there cos I REALLY want one of those! Fingers crossed I get a quiet one (there have been problems with noisy bearings on some cards).

    7-14 days!! I'm not gonna last!!!!!11111!11
