Im using a kvm with my 2 comps... Problem is .. when I play unreal tournament for like 20 mins, the mouse an keyboard appear to lock out , the game keeps playing but i keep going in the same direction as it was before it locked out.. AND at the same time the kvm is making both computer screens flash up back back and forward.. only way to kill it is to pull power from both comps an reboot but itl keep happening when i play ut, lol any ideas ?
rma the kvm, or buy a different one, or check you arent using the key combo to put it in to the mode where it flicks between the pc's, and find the combo to stop it.
I get that problem on a few KVM's I have at work and home. In general KVM are pants for gaming, poor refresh rates, PS2 ports, lag etc You are better off networking your 2 PC's and running remote desktop.
Maybe with a cr@p KVM.. I don't have any problems like that with my KVM and quality cables.. Blood, does your KVM have any keyboard shortcuts to switch displays? What about the other computers, does it happen with them all off? Maybe one of them is somehow triggering it to switch displays.
It hasnt happened when the other pc is off..... I may take it back and get a different one.... hmm I cant use virtual desktop.. I used to when the other computer was just downloading stuff, but im back doing bits of 3d modeling now on it. so I use that . hmm lol
Just for sh*ts and giggles try turning off suspend mode and crud on the other computer.. Thats the only thing I can think of, maybe when the other computer suspends or goes standby it triggers something in the KVM..
