Windows IE problems, see if this makes you scratch your head

hey guys and gals what i have going on at work is this. I have a windows 2000 machine with 2 lcd's. I just got a geforce 5200 to run these. I went to nvidia.com and downloaded/ installed the newest drivers right off the bat. And every thing works fine, well almost. Internet Explorer will not stay open. It will launch and instanly shut down. I am at a complete loss here. I would just use firefox but some of my apps only work with IE. Please give me any ideas.

thanks for the help. I found the problem. The guy using the machine had a pop up blocker installed. well for some stupid @#$!*$) reason it would shut down ie no matter what.
so problem solved
