Windows internet dying?

after using it for some while, my dsl will die, my cpu usage will go to 100%, and by going into processes ic an stop what ever program is doing this. ill will tyr and find it ans tell u its name for information

You are spyware/virus free, right?

 

its a virus thingy, it makes my cpu go up to 100%, by terminating the process i can get internet back, ill get teh name later

whatever this is, it runs my CPU up to 100, and hogs my dsl till theres nothing left, running xp pro. im sure this is it

To confirm Bruno_me's finding, check the file path ... should be:

C:\Program Files\WorkgroupMail\WMSvc.exe

 

i have no such folder

i found it in search in the windows folder, should i get rid of it?

 

Run an anti-virus scanner on your system before you go and flat out delete the file. If you don't have one, you can download a very good free one from Grisoft called AVG here: http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/

 

I would … most likely spyware. Remove it form Startup.
Then clean your box … Spyware/Virus Removal and Prevention (links to online virus scans on the same page)

 

i did the regedit one.

there has to be a "im not a newb" title, i have firefox/gmail/bootleg pro/oc cpu and gpu

 

TekMonkey's right. Keep it in your Recycle Bin until you confirm that your box is clean, and no applications are affected by WMSvc.exe removal.

Use directions (link) from my previos post to scan for viruses/spyware.

i tried deleting it from the registry, using spybot s&d, windows spyware beta, adware, and doing a search ain windows and deleting that while also blocking its ability to go on the internet. yet it still keeps soming back

And how was it recognized/identified (spyware/virus name) by the software?

 

and its back again, it was trying to get on the internet and it said "would u like to block" and i said yes. so i blocked it using every program i can, and guess what,

i get error messages coming at me a mile a minute about how windows update is broke. so i think i know what it is. i try to go to windows update, and i cnat get there, the rest of the internet works, so its windows update.

i unblock it, internet only works after i kill the process and windows update works, wtf is this?

Windows Update doesn't like Firefox users visiting. Try going with IE. Or just tell us what the Error messages are?

 

it just said error message, this program had to close, blah blah, send to microsoft. but my entire dsl connection died, no steam, ei, or windows update, no matter what i used, it killed my bandwidth. but it is a windows update thingy,

\there, i just had to kill the process, it killed my connect again, all i have to do though is terminate it for dsl to start working again
