its a shame aboot the diff colors in the metal

what color perspex are you planning on using for the window?

i think tinted or a dark color would look pretty sweet if your gona paint it white

Good idea im going to do that i think thanks for that i completely forgot about it, ill go with the tinted plexi (eg macromans macro black case) so that when the puda is off you cant see through the plexi but as soon as its on you can see through it, thanks for the idea

I went out and got the perspex for the window yesterday and all the nuts to put it on,

i have been working on the front bezel with some bondo and i will post an update when I have finished with it.

thanks for posting taliban_raider yes it is nice to see some austrailians on this board im from the sydney area, getting free stuff is cool if only i could use more than the case

ill post some picks up when i've finished the bondo work, just got to do the top layer and sand it back then i can start to paint.

Update time

Been working hard lately and finally an update to show my progress

First off the top of my case with the window cut and the bolts resting in the holes to give an idea on what it may look like when its done:



Then after that i started putting the primer on the top:



After that i got distracted to go for a ride in a friends Z4, once i got back i finished the top of the case



And finally the front bezel with some bondo work on it just need to finish sanding it down and then put the primer on that and then finish painting



i still need to cut the perspex to size and get some steel fab'd

@ antiHero: it is going to be a gaming rig hopefully although when i mod my next puder this one may get turned into a htpc because of the way it sits it may go well under a tv or something like that.

there will be another update tonight more than likely as i am going to finish the paint job on the top and start doing the front, ahwell off to school

It's a shame about the different colours in the metal. I can see what you meant from your pics.

Nice work on the smoothing out of the front bezel. It would be good to see a side by side comparison once you get it to the primer stage next to how it was originally.

 

there has been no updates for quite some time because of school work - year 11 has to much of it, tonight i worked on the front bezel for a while and have it completed and almost ready to prime, the top of the case is primed and ready to paint, and the fabrication of a new motherboard tray is almost done but when i go back to school i will finish the motherboard tray and anything else that needs to be fabricated.

 

nice. i have one of these compaqs chassis in my dads garage

another update, got a little bit achieved tonight,

i got the top of the case painted in white although the photos make it look grey i will try and take some more photos in the next few days during the day to see if i can get a better shot

Long time inbetween updates but ive been busy with school assignments and work but ive put in an order for three parts:


DVD Burner

TFT Monitor

300GB WD HDD

I am also halfway through fabricating a motherboard tray at school and ill hopefully have it done by the end of term.

Also almost finished painting just got chipped at one corner and have to fix it up and clear coat it.

last day of school today and i had a few frees so i finished fabricating my own removable motherboard tray, anyway enough talking time for some pics
(the blue spray will be removed before painting it was just there so I could see where to put the bends)
