i was wondering if anyone has tried to mod your printer to make it go along with those sweet computer mods. Or just modding it to look cooler.

I think HP printers (well the more recent ones) look sexy.

I also think that printers are 5 years behind in technology and will IT people like me the biggest headaches.

There was someone on here who painted a printer pink for their gf, thats about as far as its gone.

I personally would never void a printers warranty, because, well, I HATE THEM, and I'd much rather the mfg have to deal with it.

in regards to the comments on the types of printers that are the best. Here is my personal and professional opinion.

    Household Use

NOTHING BY HP OR LEXMARK i would go with a nice all around Canon printer for inkjets and SAMSUNG for monochrome Laser best price for consumables in the long run.

    Work Useage

NO INKJETS should ever be used in a Work Environment unless ABSOLUTLY necessary Mostly LEXMARK for both monochrom and color laser they make decent products and are realtively easy to service as i ahve service Lexmark, HP, Xerox, and Tektronics and Lexmark is the easiest.

But this only one IT professionals Opinion, OH ya and that extended warranty that makes it's someone elses problem i LOVE EM :)

i modded my lexmark printer about two years ago. it was very early in the morning the day a huge paper was due. i went to print the paper and the printer spit smoke at me. thats when i modded it into a wall outside my dorm. it probally wasnt the smartest thing to do but it made me feel better there were shiney parts everwhere :wallbash: just not blue head gray lexmark

Got 7 printers, 6 are brand new, one newish and 2 old ones, might mod the old EPSON Stylus C42, its already got a transparent blue window flip-cover thing, how would I mod it? get rid of the beige cover and leave it like that?

EDIT: Mod it to inside a computer?
