McDonald's Happy Meal PC Mod (Pics of my 2nd mod on page 2) Hey, This is my first post and my first mod. Before I show you the pictures, let me introduce myself. I'll be known as FRiGUi62 (that's fry guy sixty-two ) Anyway, I'm 16, and from Wisconsin, and I work at McDonald's! You may wonder why I'd waste my time and money on mod based on McDonald's? I'm dedicated to my job. If you look "dedication" up in a dictonary, you'll see a picture of me. I simply love my job. So, I mixed my two loves together (McDonald's and computers) and you get this computer mod! It was the Happy Meal's 25th anniversary last year. And I started the project soon after that. Sorry, I don't have any pictures of the building process, so the finished product will have to do. The systems specs are: VIA EPIA Nehemiah M10000 1Ghz Mobo and CPU (Built in video, sound, and LAN) Laptop DVD-ROM Laptop 20 GB HDD 128 MB PC2100 RAM Built in 5" LCD screen The happy meal box is made of wood. The dimensions are 8 x 7 x 12" (About 30% larger than a regular happy meal box) You couldn't make it any smaller than it is. The LCD is built the top of the box also. Some of my favorite pics: FRiGUi62
it's certainly an original mod... i just hope it turns out ncer than the food thay produce... eugh! good luck tho Snood
Thanks. Here's more info on them. I got the fan grills custom made from xport1. (It took 4 month to get them, but they're worth it) As for the handle, it's EL wire layed in a groove I carved in the handle.
That's pretty original, I'll give you that. Things look awfully cramped in there, too. The first thing I thought was "Great, some guy got drunk and crammed his PC into a Happy Meal box", but then I saw the pics and your first post. Quite the treat. Good construction, nice and clean, and overall quite a nice mod. Could make a nice display for Mickey-D's too !
It will probably end up displayed at my McDonald's soon. We're adding a display case when we remodel this spring.
FRiGUi62, nicely done. A bit wierd, but nicely done. I would love to see you put those skillz (thinking of you, snod) to work on a Non-HappyMeal mod. But, still, well thought out and original.
