I look ugly in the picture but I like the piercing so far. Just going to have to be careful with the aftercare. When it has healed properly I will be stretching...don't know to what size yet though.

    :)

    Well done :)

Just remember to use sea salt soaks for your aftercare.

Buy some sea salt (the larger lumps...not the finely granulated stuff - that has chemicals in it) and mix it with boiled water that has been left to cool to an acceptable temperature. The mixture should be the same salinity as your tears.

Once you have your saline solution, decant enough to fill a mug to within around 1cm of the rim. stand infront of a sink, tilt your head to the left, place the mug to your head, straighten up your head and let it soak in the solution for a few minutes. you should be able to get a decent enough seal between your head and the mug to eliminate most spills...

Do that twice a day and it will heal in no time.

Don't put chemicals on it :)

    Thanks :)

The after-care instructions they gave me tell me to use surgical spirit and cotton swabs...presumably this is bad then?

    Cheers dude.

I'm almost looking forward to soaking my tongue in that crap...

Actually getting half tempted to get a few when I go and heal them all at once.... but then I dunno if that's do bad things to my body.... meh..

Yeh they do that so they can sell you a hell loada spirit.... they convinced me to buy some Peroxide.. Never used it... never will....

Follow Penski's advice to a T and you'll be fine... It's not often I admit something like this... but he is pretty much the nearest thing to a god we got re: piercing/harm to bodies.. And it's advise I'd listen to... (even if I didn't take it first time..)

Congrats on your first piercing, and on choosing a more sensible first piercing than I did

    How does it feel?

Stung slightly just after, but I can hardly feel it now...doesn't even feel as though it's there. There's still a very slight "heat" sensation there...can't really think of any other way to describe it.

    What was your first piercing?

*Sticks a finger through his earlobe and wiggles it at Leeum*

Basically, surgical spirit won't heal a piercing. Your body is what will heal a piercing. Sure you can attack it with chemicals and it will heal...eventually but all they do is irritate the puncture wound and prolong the healing process/possibly cause problems.

You'll be wanting more in no time...

I got to the point where I'd get a new one as soon as the previous one healed. Still kind of like that now, I suppose. Only have *counts*... 11 now though. And a word of advise/warning, navel piercings hurt, 3 navel piercings hurts more than 3 times more... worth it though

What she mean is 'I'm not sufficiently qualified to pierce your nipples so I will tell you it can't be done.'

That really pisses me off - piercers who, instead of saying 'look, I've not had enough experience yet of this kind of piercing to feel comfortable doing it on you.' or 'I've never done that before.', they make up some crap about the piercing in question being dangerous or impossible to do.

*n (has miniscule [4mm across, 3mm long] nipples which can be pierced...)
