American Dad

Well just saw the preview episode, there was some funny stuff, but its no family guy that's for sure. What'd everybody think?

 

incredibly awful - and the political satire was so blatant that it was like being hit in the head with it

 

I think our American Dad is alright...

agreed...bits of it were funny, but most of it was very heavy handed.
nowhere near as good as family guy, and i'm worried about the new season because of it.

after seeing the preview for a new episode of family guy im not worried that it will be bad at all

Just watched a clip from it and it didn't seem too bad... But I can't see it lasting long. Seems a short joke to ride really.

Family Guy on the other hand... New series... Like... Oh jesus...

 

Holy crap, I need my Family Guy fix, gimme gimme gimme that new series.

American Dad, on the other hand, seems a one joke show that'll struggle to evolve to the sheer stellar wonder that is FG.

 

Looks ok, but some dry humor, not Family guy for sure. When I saw the talking goldfish and alien I knew it wasn't going to be that great. It's ok, but I doubt it will make it past it's first season unless they clean it up a bit when it actually starts.

 

I know, it looks sorta "interim" for Family Guy junkies that need a fix.

Ive watched 1 minute and 35 seconds and i already love the Fish to bits.

I got to admit, that was funny! Who knows, it was an early preview, it could always get better.

 

taht was excellent its true that its no family guy but its certainly got potential

 

I just hope they dont use all their A+ political material in the first few epsiodes, then it gets long in the tooth from then on.

 

Hmmm a bit undecided - I think it's too 'Family Guy', every character has a counterpart which isn't so good. The family seems somewhat not dysfunctional enough to carry on the humour for any long period of time. The next few eps should sway me one way or another.

Love the camp alien though

 

I did not that American Dad was that bad. I don't know how long it will last. On the other hand we have got the new Series of Family Guy too look forward too. When does it start again? May 1st?

I think the problem I had with it was expecting gold (aka family guy quality).

 

thats the problem with people today - they forget the guys that make this have to cater to a population that changes! they expect too much depending on what their old shows were like!

star wars for example - people expected way too much. the first were never to be as good as the old ones, thats why lucas made the old ones first... he was mor einterested in it

 

I agree 100%.

 

I saw the preview copy that was leaked out online a few months ago. At least they changed the son's voice from the one in the original. I also liked the new theme song for it. I would'nt have minded if they used the original theme though (You're a lucky fella, Mr. Smith...).
