    In Yellow

    OR

This was a quick 10 minute knock up in sketchup, they arent physically accurate (dimensions), but you get the idea.

the quater circle bit on the front is the drive front, the purple/yellow bits will be leater, or imitation leather, and the black will be alacantra, or velvet, these things depend on suppliers... as of yet i've not looked into them

    Nice idea.

I like the yellow, but if I were you I'd use pretty 'short-haired' velvet. Maybe even velveteen.

Are you going to sew it?

sewing velvet can be pretty irritating, but I can give you tips if you want. Leather is even harder, you'll probably need an industrial sewing machine to do that nicely. You could maybe ask a shoe repair shop to do it for you..

Yellow imo, it's easier to 'get right'. Purple would stand out too much and make it like kinds cheap unless you put a nice gloss finish on it.
