mmm stealth goodness (not as quite as i thought they would be once actually attached to a heatsink)

temp probe, wont look like this once i've finished with it ;)

hardware starting to go in (bit messy but i'll sort that out once all the wiring is finished)

relocating the switch so it can be opened once stealthed (by a swtich located somewhere else), also relocating the cd-rom activity LED

wires coming from cd-rom (good old cat 5, black tape wont be there for long)

power switch, reset switch, HDD LED, Power LED all in 1 cat 5 cable (looks really tidy)

tomorrow i pick up the perspex so i can finish off the top

    :dremel:

    well the top is finished

all in all i think it looks pretty good.

other developments, i've dumped the cd-rom drive, wasn't needed and there where just to many factors and headaches associated with getting it to do what i wanted it to do.

the hole that was made for the cdrom tray is now where the switches will go, works out well as i really didnt want to cut another hole for the switches, this way i dont..

now i'm pretty much waiting on the switches and LED's, all construction is actually finished, just wiring left. next update will be when switches arrive.

Very nice project. Always liked wood as a silencer and material.

i've been toying with this idea for awhile now, ever since i started this project.

was alittle hard to know what it would look like, so i decided i'd make it up and see..

what it is, is basically a cover for the harddrives, i've used mesh in parts of it so hot and cold air can get in and out.

    wouldnt mind your input

i'm only really mucking around with the idea, dont even know if i will use it yet.. ofcourse if i was to use it, it would get a paint job.

Your hard drive cover looks right smashing! Nice work, any plans of putting an LED or such behind it to give it a bit of glow?

Whaaa, I was just going to say, a bit of paint on the aluminium would look nice. Never struck me that the cardboard wasn't just a mockup. Nice work.

Wow, looks great, and very original. what are the system specs gonna be?

I've always wanted to make a wooden case, mainly because I have skills with wood - my dad's a carpenter.

specs are pretty crap, just using my old computer as HDTV (got no other use for it)

    specs:
800Mhz, 512meg RAM, 50Gig HDD, mx440 - tv out, wireless keyboard and mouse

    more pics :p

ok, i made another grill for the PSU yesterday

please excuse my wiring, i havent run all the cables yet, waiting for switches...

I'm also getting some blue loom to replace the purple, painting that light blue CC inverter (or move it), and braiding the fan wires in blue...

    bit of advertising :p

also seriously thinking about painting the inside black, so all the blue, silver and chrome sticks out.. i dont know, might ruin the whole wood look.... the other option is do it in black contact paper and see what its like

Dont paint the inside black as that would just ruin the wood look. But the back plate of the mobo and the exposed original psu metal painted black would be nice. And by exposed metal I dont mean those lovely pices of metal grill you made, I mean the old psu cage under it and the mobo tray.

looks awsome keep up the gr8 work.
