John Cena from these here forums has come up with a nice, simple system benchmarking program. Original post here, downloadable here. Be sure to include a screenshot of the program, along with the message with your time.

Maybe this will pick up, maybe not. Worth a try, though. I thought it was an easy way to benchmark simple system performance, basically SuperPI with a prettier background :hehe:.

    My AMD64 3000+:

3 Seconds with HT Enabled in the program window, 6 seconds without it.

All credit for this program goes to John Cena, I just bothered to make a benchmarking thread about it o_O

BTW, program requires the Microsoft .NET 1.1 framework.

We'll see if this catches on...

umm ok i just ran this again with HT on and it droped down to 3 seconds

i was expecting it to lock up my PC or something not tell me i have hyperthreading on an atholon 64 lol
    its wiggy wacked

    but still fun

should be interesing when i get my new pc soon 5ghz with twinx 2 gig ram and twin 6800gt's in SLI :D i'm expecting about -5 seconds lol so it does it before i even think to do the benchmark

Yeah, enabling HT droppy my time in half as well. Not quite sure what it does, or does differently, but if this does catch on, I'll make one HT table and one non-HT table. I wonder what happens when the FX-55's come it...does it measure in tenths of seconds :p?

Some thing wierd going on with the HT enabled thing (i'd imagine it just divides the load into two processes which run at the same time?)

    12seconds on a 1800+ @ 8.5*241 and 7 seconds with "ht enabled" .

..and the "cpu speed" is messed aswell :p.

Huh, just noticed that it clocked my 2.33Ghz A64 3000+ @ 3.5Ghz :jawdrop:

And it reads the RAM a tich wrong.

Not sure what exactly is the explanation behind the HT feature, may shoot JohnCena a message and ask. Still, handy little thing, imo :).

I'm happy with that as at the moment my PC is completly stock, but I've got a little Over clocking in mind of rwhenI've got some spare time. Only thing I found wierd was that if I actually bothered to close all my open applications, messenger antivirus etc etc I got sores consistantly 1 second slower...which is quite a performace hit on a 3 second time!!

Specs in sig, but cranked down a bit to 2497mhz for now. Will be doing some extr33m clocking within the next few days though :D

Noticing a pattern here... everyone with ht enabled gets 3 seconds.... Maybe just run without ht or something?
