It'll be fine as it's plastic. As long as it doesn't touch anything conductive :)

certain platics can be charged, if rubbed, others can be charged by simple passing a current through them, (think polyester), it depends on the plastic, and the voltages, but as long as you stear clear from certain plastics, you should be fine even if it does touch something conductive

Yeah, some plastics. He's referring to the static charge that builds up around say, one of those plastic chairs you see in schools (that are made from recycled soda bottles or something). That's just the static charge building up in the air around it. Notice if you rub a chair like that, you can't discharge it by touching the backside of it. Nor does discharging one area discharge all of it.

Static dosn't matter, as long as everything goes trough the PSU which is grounded trough the 3rd pin (if you live where there's a third pin) :hehe:

if you don't you'll have other problems to worry about... every ground wire in the PSU is wired directly to that third pin :D

You might be able to run safely without the hard ground third pin, but be prepared for problems. I've done it many times, it sometimes results in a low voltage short to the chassis. So if you're grounded and you touch the case you get a little zap.

that "third pin" is wired in your house box
to the same iron pole/plumbing pipe (cheap)
    as the WHITE wire.....

Sometimes I wonder 'bout you guys!

Both the White (common) and Copper (common)

bus to the SAME point in your electric box

Black is wired to the load via a breaker....

it doesnt mean that its conductive, that just means that it DOESNT conduct electricity. becaue the current cant pass through it you get a + charge on one side and a - charge on the other... simmilar to a leyden jar.

Just run the plastic under cold water and let it air dry then just touch the edges and you will be fine. They've concluded that the amount of kinetic energy and plastic needed to make really any shock is very much.
