Thanks all, had DSL problems this week, so few updates, but my board should be here tomorrow, we'll see what develops, cause I got some great ideas for what's to come...

Same comment here, I like the window design. Thought I was the only one who contemplated using curves...everyone else is still thinking orthogonally  :D

Is this going to be watercooled? Be a nice play on words, FlameProof - watercooled...

Liquid, not water in the strictest sense, probably not even water-based, but liquid.

    Not decided yet.

I saw Nexxo's Flourinert cooled dual operon rig, and thought that he was a fool to run it in blocks intead of submerging, then I realized that he had a good idea as far as expensive hardware went.

With an nForce 4 system, I may not want to blow it to hell and back.

So, I'm researching coolant options. Still looking for the reclaimed flourinert, first choice is actually the DangerDen MCT coolant stuff, the -40 version, so i can add a chiller later if I so incline...

Would require opaque tubing to fit in my mod, as well as possibly modding the bayres, as it's bright green. Not good for a white/silver mod.

    Stay tuned...

small question about that X-Connect PSU.
Runs it really loud and hot?
/I'm thinking of byuing one, but if it's to loud I'm going to replace the two standard 80mm fans by two Papst 8412 fans I have around.
But if it gets real hot and needs the cooling, it's not a good idea to replace the fans with the papst one with lesser CFM./
    That's why I ask...

Don't mess with it, it's not worth it.

They run almost like the UV Vantecs when it comes to noise level. It's perfectly accepable to me, and if I'm gonna WC all that, I should have a pretty high standard.

    Update!

w00t, I got my motherboard in! Now I gotta go steal the camera back to take pictures of the beast!

For the record, this thing looks alien... But if I'm not mistaken, the chipset dimensions are such tha my block should fit it no problem...

I'm gonna fire Rokk an e-mail letting him know the Maze4 chipset will fit, and here's the heads up from a fellow modder, no modding necessary. Almost the exact same size as an nForce 2...

Well, it's been a bit, and these pics will tell you why.

The resistors around this thing are ridiculous, so I had to get.... creative to get a northbridge block on here.

If you had that, you'd probably have to get creative too. So i decided to make a backplate for it to spread the clamping force and go from there, but if this is an alchemical mod...

Enjoy, as I have more work to do....

Just got a bunch of the bits and bobs for the case ordered, like a 3000+ Winnie and fans, cables, and tubing...

Expect more updates when I get them in...

This was all blue hell (no pun intended) getting photographed... it's too shiny to get properly if you're camera-dumb like me...

Oh well, the new paint for some of the other chassis parts is drying ATM, I'll let tthat get done before I subject you to drying paint pics...

No, this didn't die, I've been waiting on parts.

I've converted the RBX, so it's sitting on there, waiting for tubes...

Tubing is here, tested my res and...

It leaked like a sieve. from every damn place possible. Not even worth fixing.

So I'll be ordering a DD fillport along with my chrome Maze4 GPU...

Also found that my original plan of stuffing the rad/fan in the top won't work. I just HAD to get a Panaflo FBA12G12U *118 CFM goodness* and it refuses to fit, so I changed fans. Guess what? It's the rad, and no matter where i turned it I couldn't get the PSU in.

So what's a boy to do?

Simple. In cases like this I get creative.

    Pics to follow soon.
