:eyebrow: It is definitely not 5/18 (or 18/5. for that matter) anywhere in the world right now. At least not on the Gregorian calendar. :hehe:

Obviously your planning on going with a socket 754 system, my concern is that the X700 Pro is incompatible with all ASUS micro-ATX socket 754 motherboards. There is no X700 Pro AGP video card which means they are all PCI-Express 16x, the only ASUS micro-ATX with any PCI-Express slots is the K8S-MX which has 2 PCI slots, 1 AGP 8x slot, and a PCI-Express 1x slot.
    All ASUS motherboards

    The K8S-MX

The only PCI-Express 16x micro-ATX AMD64 motherboard, that I know of, is the MSI RS480M2-IL which is socket 939, meaning you'd have to buy a socket 939 AMD64 3200+ or 3500+ and your 1gb of ram would be able to run in dual channel, giving a slight performance gain. You could also buy a AGP video card such as a AGP Nvidia 6600gt instead of the more expensive socket 939 system.

Maybe, by PCI he means PCI-E as nearly every motherboard has PCI!!!! so its not hard to find one that "supports" it... where as since PCI-E is a relatively new standard... then he mightve meant PCI-E as not every motherboard supports it ;)

and they dont make a PCI x700 to my knowledge, only pci-e

yea, i almost made the huge mistake of buying a pcie card for a pcie x1 motherboard . I figured out to support the video card i want i have to get the msi that you were mentioning. this also means that i will have to get a socket 939 processor. luckily i havnt ordered anything yet.

Great job so far. If you don't mind, why did you choose white led fans when the Aria has those built in blue leds.

This is what I'd suggest as changes to your system hardware, it's slightly slower but is socket 939 and supports PCI-E and is the same price as your previous hardware.
    Athlon 64 3200+ socket 939
    1GB Corsair VS 2.5 CAS DDR400 RAM
    MSI RS480M2-IL AMD64 Socket 939 Motherboard
    PCI Radeon X700 256mb Pro
    Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS
    120 Gig Western Digital HD
    Logitech MX510
    Logitech Elite Keyboard
Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers
    Sony CR-RW/ DVD-ROM combo drive

I would also consider this, it's the most powerfull for the the same price.
    Athlon 64 3400+ socket 754
    1GB Corsair VS 2.5 CAS DDR400 RAM
    ASUS K8S-MX Socket 754 Motherboard
    EVGA GeForce 6600GT 128MB DDR3 AGP 8X Video Card
    Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS
    120 Gig Western Digital HD
    Logitech MX510
    Logitech Elite Keyboard
Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers
    Sony CR-RW/ DVD-ROM combo drive

The reason I suggest the 6600gt is that it consistantly beats the X700pro despite having only 128mb DDR3 by about 20%.

...unless you've already ordered the parts
