That looks to be one heavy mother when it's done! I really love those types of Lian Li cases. They're huge. Will you mod the evaporator casing as well to match the PC2000B?
Dont you think there will be quite a bit of heat to take care of in that case with an 70C compressor? That case looks to be more for the quiet user.. Well I havent fit the compressor yet.. Couse Id like to try the compressor out before throwing the garanties away. But the memmory Im waiting for sholud leave a german stor yesterday and reach me in the middle of next weekend or so. Then after the tryout there will be the havey modding And yes, there will be simple 12cm blow holes to cool the compressor down, and Im going to seal the roof of betweene the motherboard and the comp, so not so much heat will rise.. How do ya mean? The compressor will be taken out of it currently case and mount on a steal plate, witch will be stiffed inside the 2000B..
Well, as I said. The original idea was to use the 1100 case, however that was dropped 'cause the VapoChill is to big (or the case is to small ) Since then I've ordered the Lian-Li PCV2100B, which is like yours except mine will sport sound insulation as well. I choose that case because I want the 'puter to be as silent as possible (well, perhaps the VapoChill shouldn't be in there 'cause the noise, but hey! I'd like the rig to fly as well ) Regards, Karl
A minor update. Cant realy say how much I love that FMJ, its heavy nicely bent corners and so on . The jacket will get some chrometion later on As you well can see on this picture, the fan grill is pritty bigger then the fan. But it will be taken care of, so it fits the BIX later on.. Rock on!
Not to put your enthusiasm off or sumthing, but I never feel the need to watercool HDDs I put my HDD in the 5.25" bays, stick a silent 120mm fan in front of them, and they never go above 25*C (I've seen most 22-24) Those HDD waterblocks are not doing u a favour, they are restricting flow only, even on your uber powerful Eheim Just my 2 cents
Well tru with the 120cm fan, but with the waterblocks I probably could put som soundresistant material or so over them. With air cooling the HDDs would burn But its a *for the eye* thing also. The blocks will stay as long they prove them selfs worthy. So you think the 1048 whont take the resistance? Im quite new with the 1048 since Iv used a 1250 before. But since the radiator only will be a BIX/BIP and MAZE4 on the GPU and the HDD blocks, Im would be supprized if there would be bigger problem then some light resistance..
In that case its OK But a 120mm fan spinning at low rev is not noisy either. However that option would not fit your situation, as u are using some Noise reduction material for your HDDs. Everything is neat and clean so far, so keep it up
It's a really good idea if there's low airflow like in most watercooled setups. Not critical but still better safe than sorry, especially with your data. A couple questions about those HDD blocks... where'd you get them, how much and what type of thread is on the fittings? And if you mount them as far towards the back of the case as you can, how much clearance is there to the front of the drive rack (trying to see if my LCD might fit in front )
/Quote/ Well its a enginer i Sweden who makes them.. But if you are nice maby he would make some for ya... Try this webbpage = http://hj07.dyndns.org/ its in swedish but have a try /End Quote/ Kind regards, Karl
I've seen the FMJ a few times around some different forums. Looks to be one helluva choice you made on using it!
I want some updates and new pic's , it's been silent in here for a while now I'm very interested in learning more about your plans for the VapoChill Kind regards, Karl
You will get them Thanks for the thought All the shots are in 2048x1536 so thers only links for now.. Quite manny of them are quite the same, but maby some joy on the late eve Random shots on mobo, memmory. http://img7.exs.cx/img7/8820/core0015gz.jpg http://img78.exs.cx/img78/1051/core0020ar.jpg http://img78.exs.cx/img78/7898/core0036pa.jpg http://img78.exs.cx/img78/4683/core0042rw.jpg Condesation compound on the socket. http://img207.exs.cx/img207/9641/core0109zz.jpg http://img78.exs.cx/img78/5069/core0083ht.jpg http://img207.exs.cx/img207/4420/core0114cu.jpg http://img207.exs.cx/img207/6029/core0123ea.jpg http://img193.exs.cx/img193/8238/core0164fb.jpg Nice reflection http://img193.exs.cx/img193/4682/core0184xe.jpg http://img175.exs.cx/img175/4776/core0194tu.jpg LS mounting condensation ready. for dual channel you need to be using slots 2 and 4 (the orange ones) on the DFI nF4 SLI-DR/nF4 SLI-D/nF4 Ultra-D boards.
Are u certain? because DC should be with diffrent shannels. Yellow and orange for DC. Or is it like u say? Becous on MSI K8N NEO2 theres DC with the different collors.. Your right, ofcourse For DC on nF4 DFI its channel 2-4/1-3
just being curious... i can take a guess on what the condensation compound is for and what it prevents i just dont understand how the cpu and compund are fitted? very jelous of the case.. very nice sos bout the late pick up aswell but are those IDE HDDrives uve got strapped between ur watercooling blocks? surely you want something a bit spicier and faster.... or am i just slow this morning? ... sleepy. sos long night.
