I'm far from ready with the case so benchmarking will have to wait for a long time.

    The CPU has arrived :naughty:

Just like I did with the HDD tray I'm making some papermodels again for the motherboard and baydrive covers.

In this picture only one videocard is in place. I haven't installed the AC cooler on the second videocard yet.

Windows can address 4GB, windows XP can't. I run server 2003 enterprise for a reason :)

It's still pointless for non-servers... but don't get technical with me or I'll hunt you down and beat you with 4 gigs of ram.

Franklin, looking more amazing every update! And that FX-55.... I'm feeling so left out... all of the other v-series mods seem to have them (and SLi mods). In time, maybe. Can't wait to see both cards in and set up.... seeing as some of my watercooling stuff is still MIA (should be soonish I think though). The mobo covers are similar to what I was thinking... although I'm not sure how to deal with the ATX plug and SATA cables as they need a LOT of clearance off the board compared with everything.

And... umm... Aqua Computer is AC not AQ :hehe: I've noticed it's a fairly common thing to do for some reason (I suppose AQua computer maybe) in quite a few threads.

Actually 4GB is pretty standard for a number of applications. Digital video workstations spring to mind. Sure thats a specialized thing but plenty of people are working with DV at home these days now the cameras are getting more affordable.

Anyway, to keep it on topic the machine is looking cool as heck :D

Looking Exceptional Mr. Franklin. In our elite LL V-series club of projects, AlumaxX is perhaps my favorite... :thumb: ROCK ON..

I saw that you plan to use two 1048s, where are you going to stiff the other pump?

Since its getting crowded, its easy to forget something.

    keep posting :dremel:

    Edit Leeum, corected ;)

I have to decide how the waterloop or loops will be. Should I use two seperate loops or maybe a single loop. All opinions are welcome.

The parts are two Black Ice Xtreme radiators and one Black Ice Xtreme II radiator.

    What comes in the watercoolsetup?

    • The CPU AMD FX-55
    • The NVidia NForce4 chipset
    • Videocard Nvidia 6800 GT (1)
    • Videocard Nvidia 6800 GT (2)
    • Harddisk (1)
    • Harddisk (2)
    • PSU

I don't know if it is even possible to place it all in one loop with two pumps in it. If I decide to use two seperate loops, what would be the best setup. I was thinking about the following:

PSU and the two harddisks in one loop in combination with the two BIX radiators and the CPU, videocards and the Chipset in the other loop in combination with the BIXII radiator.

    What do you guys think?

I would mount the PSU, chipset and HDD's together on a single BI. Those don't need low temperatures like your cpu so you can keep a single and the dual one for your CPU and 6800's witch produces much more heat. I would choose for 2 loops.

I like the idea of covering the mobo. Are supplemental fans needed to keep air moving between the mobo and its cover to dissipate the heat.

The Black Ice Xtreme II radiator will get its air from the case ( 2 Papst 120 mm outake fans ) and beause of the cover the air will be forced to flow over the mobo. The cover will act like some sort of an airduct.

Test fitting the waterblocks and there seem to be no problems.
