The original DVD-ROM from the PS2 comes in a very large unit and costs quite a lot. Since I bought the PS2 case and didn't salvage it, I don't have the original DVD-ROM to dismantle.
Not straight off, no. It would require a lot of modification to get it to work with an IDE interface. Far less hastle to just buy a slimline DVD drive
I was going to start work on this project again and post some updates, but for some reason I can't seem to find it... The entire box and all the components have gone missing, presumably due to my recent move. Umm...
Well hurry up about it!!! Happy Birthday for tomorrow too. I'll be 24 aswell at the stroke of 13.01pm
Heh thanks Yea, I'm still on the hunt for it. I've checked all the boxes, but remember carrying it round on its own. It's all very confusing.
Naturally I was certain I brought it round on its own, but it was in the bottom of a box I hadn't checked properly. I'm going to start working on it again very soon
interesting to see how this is going to turn out. could you tell me a bit more about that IR receiver you got? how do you go about configuring it to control softwares? does it just "learn" the signals from remotes you already have, and then you can get it to say... control winamp? name, model numbers and possibly a URL would be most appreciated!
madhatter - I have just bought an IR reciever on ebay and the sellers site has a link to a free version of girder (from before the programmer sold out).
