Take it from somebody that spends way too much time working with digital photo's (editing them), that the code on the wall of the cubicle is digitaly edited onto there (the focus on the letters is different, and the perspective is off just enough to barely notice).

Here's a crop of that section:

    Click me

I've seen this type of thing before. People will take like a book or something, space the letters apart like this, then attempt to find a word by "jumping" letters (IE: skip every 3/4/5 letter to form a word or two. It's the main theory behind the "bible code").

okay so far I've found "Find alt game mode" and "pay" in the word search on the wall

edit: there's also Lads and Sea but I doubt they're anything to do with it.
edit 2: seems a little strange for this to be pointing to gamespots coverage of the legend of zelda (see the not leaving the house link)

Ok.... stab in the dark time.

the info on the 2003 MLB All stars game is here:
    http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/events/all_star/y2003/index.jsp

If you take initials/names of the players out of the letter grid in the image do we get anything with what's left?

Busy at work, so can't do this myself till later, but if you fancy doing the leg work (finger work?)- give it a go. (may amount to nothing)

Edit: And just a thought - the calendar must be significant - they've gone to the trouble of covering the bottom of the calender in black - I assume an advert was there. It may just be another reference to May 12th but it's definitely there for a reason.

Working on it. Frank thomas was not a part of the 2003 All stars game...So that must be significant...Looking for other links now.

Edit: Possible link. Esteban Loaiza, who was an AL pitcher in the all star game, is from the white sox. I'm looking at the letters now.

EditEdit: Not finding a link that way...Not even a Z in the puzzle.

A hunch, possibly may 12th is linked to this? I'm looking into the WS schedule, they play baltimore on that day. Now im looking into all star players from baltimore :) We will see what i come up with.

Nvm, no one from balt was in the allstar game :sigh:

Edit: nothing from the location either...

so basically, someone is sniggering as we look straight through the hidden clue.
so perhaps we need to stop looking at details, and look at the whole picture.
it's an office cubicle (aka cube), what else?
