    Hi all,

I'm looking for a circuit that changes the color of the RGB leds. All the time... It should smoothly fade true all colors... then start all over.

And I should beable to connect several RGB leds to it.

    Thanks very much.

    What is it for
Well I just feel in love with the Mathmos lightning thingy's, but they do seem a bit expensive to me.. so I was thinking about making some weird shapes in white plexi and lightning them with the rgb leds...

You can actually buy RGB LED's with an IC built inside them to make it fade through the colours, with a "normal" 2 pin connection.

    Or you have this:

    Hi

I didn't know that. But even so.. I need to power more then 1, fading true the colorrange at the same time.. I don't think these leds you are reffering too will change all at the same time...

I think the solution by Steve (using the PIC) is the easiest and best solution. I am worried about 'boosting' there power though.. as I need to power about 3 RGB LEDs (to start with)

Since I'll use a PIC, driving multiple LEDs will be simple as I'm using PWM. By adding an NPN transistor to each output you could drive as many LEDs as you wish without affecting the colour.

The effect changes with a greater load on the output. I've used a circuit similar to that before, and it's operation is very dependant on the transistors you choose. Besides - all that circuitry, or a single 8-pin device - which would you prefer??

Unfortunatley I don't have access to the page because:
And even though I've been a member for quite some time, I haven't been posting that much.

Hopefully you can post the information about it here or PM it to me?

Hi, I am also interested in this. I don't have access to it either. If you could PM it to me also, that would be great. Thanks a lot.

Not sure if that's actually allowed...

You might want to PM a moderator theshadow27 to check.
