Take a look at this work in progress and let me know what you think. I bought the vanilla case second hand for £70 a short while ago and spent the best part of a week cleaning the little fella up (shocking state!) - I wanted to do something very different and I think I've achieved it. The colour isnt to everyone's tastes I realise, but its totally unique and I like it! The specs: 3500+ DFI SLI-D 1GB OCZ 3200 VX Asus Ultra Extreme Akasa silent psu 120GB hard drive And the eventual cooling: Maze 4 Chrome Danger Den TDX Eheim 1048 Dual Bayres Danger Den UV Blue tubing I started out with the barebones case, (albeit in a dust and grime ridden state) and cleaned her up in preperation for the work.
I then polished the aluminium parts in order to achieve the "mirror finish". I had to use a giant buffer wheel to reach the desired results - this took ages! After everything was polished and I was happy with the results I anodised - I wasnt sure how the green was going to come out, but I love the end result. I have had to cut my own window panel for this - and unfortunately it was damaged under the wheel, so I'm back to the drawing board with this. I also cut a bezel for the Matrix Orbital display and anodised it.
Watercooling installation to follow - this will be tricky as the space inside any midi tower is restricted! More pics soon!
Wow, a CM ATC-110. B-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l case!!! To bad the last owner couldn't handle her. Good luck chroming and pimping here out. I suggested something along these lines in Project: Sli 'n' Shiny Wavemaster by coolmiester around page 5.
Damn, nice color you picked. I saw much cases that are polished, but i think nobody has painted on it. And you have
Thanks for the replies! Here's an update: I'm in the process of leak testing now (so far so good) - but will leave it overnight anyhow. I'm very pleased with it all things considered, its been a tough case to mod. Also considering it's 1/2" ID I've done well with the room in the case.
sweeeet! it came out great. it helps that the bones of the case are near perfect. gotta love those coolermasters. I have one of the same era, cept it has the two usb ports in the bottom font of the case...
as said before, that is one hell of a colour! green aint normally my "thang" but your case certainly does it proud!
It would probably be a good idea to maybe take a thin piece of aluminum, and glue it to the front after maybe anno'ing it! lol Um... otherwise, I can't see any other way to stealth it...
