    I agree...

You're right about that. It's kinda like I could by a case for my p4 but would rather take what I have and mod the H*** out of it. Party on...

im thingking on mod my mini mag-lite, using 1 1200mcd white LED, thers no room for more than 1, even whit 1 needs to be "hard moded", i wonder if its worth, i cant find how much light it produces in "MCDs" to calculate if its worth or not.
im in mexico so its nerly imposible to grab some luxeon stuff.

not shure if its gona work... but I MUST MOD :D

    Luxeons are amazing...

Screw the three led's I put 32 led's in my 3D mag and was disapointed with the results. So... I decided to go with 4 of the 3 watt luxeon stars (white colored) and run them dirrect drive to make 350+ lumens of blistering led light... But the luxeons arent here yet... I'll keep you updated when I get them in and installed!

I second that. I have a most bodacious 1W red luxeon LED which will end up on my bike when I have the time...

The blue thing isn't a resistor, it's just there to help support the filament.

A lightbulb is essentially a resistor in and of itself. It simply heats up to the point where it incandesces.

I bought a set of 10 x 20Cd 5mm on ebay, replaced the LED in all my keychain lights, mostly to get a better pattern, the old ones had huge hotspots.

just for some info, while I was out in South Africa, browsing one of their adventure shops (complete with its own climbing wall, running maching, and torch testing cave) I noticed an off the shelf conversion kit for the maglight AA. It replaced the reflector too, I was going to get one.. but I decided against it for some reason

Believe it or not, I'm actually going to do it to several torches.
