It's ok, only a temp background, currently looking for something a bit darker with the same basic theme.

I used to have a smart wallpaper but then I changed it and didn't like the new one so just used a standard colour

second monitor ends up being strictly irc/aim/msn/icq etc.... i'll toss iTunes over there too if i'm using cad or something so i can check songs etc... but other than that, it's simply to unclutter my main desktop.... normally they're not even the same size (my main screen being at 1600x1200 normally)

Uh, I fit dual 1600*1200 images, saved at high quality JPEG format, in under 1MB. Hosted on Imageshack until I got my own site. What are you saving them as, bitmaps?

    /me stabs uwannabigmak with omgz0rzMSPaint ;)

I've never quite understood the point of removing all the icons from a desktop environment. Yes, you're removing a slight bit of clutter, but how often do you actualy sit down and stare blankly at your computer monitor without a program of some sort running?

A computer should be a work of art, but it also should constitute some function. My most used applications go onto the desktop, and I utilize the links provided (either that or I just use the quick launch features on my keyboard, or my remote-wonder)

i wouldn't like it because there wouldn't be space to show all the different apps I usually have running.

Maybe it's just because I haven't slept in a few days, but I can't quite work out how having icons set on your desktop would make any impact as to how many programs you are running...

Can't you just like move a window over the icons if they're bugging you so much? Or change the icon?

I have only the recyicle bin on the desktop. (because i can't remoe it) If i hide all the icons on the desktop it becomes a hazzle to save things there (saved things doesn't show up either). and if i remove the recyclebin i cant put things in it.

I have quicklaunchbuttons to access programs. the start->programs menu gets used wery rarely. Having icons on the desktop is a waste, as i have to remove windows to get access to them.

I was specifically talking about the quicklaunch (not desktop) shortcuts.

And looking back, I was actually talking about/to Barry.
