Hello :) First- Im new at these phorums. :p Secondly- My English is bit bad, but I'll try to do my best
So, I recently got an small Enlight case with power supply unit. Unluckily, the PSU was faulty and also destoyed my CR-ROM reader. This is the second time actually, those small non-standard PSU-s are not so "stable" :(
Now i've got some fresh ideas- fitting a standard Codegen 300W unit in this case. Orginal PSU was located in midle of case, just a bit above from processor. I now have 2 places for new supply- either on the bottom of the case or at the free space between optical devices.
I've made some pictures, they may help you understand what Im trying to do.

http://www.hot.ee/casio123/where_to_cut.JPG-this picture shows that, im going to use the orginal casing that this PSU had.

Im still need some good tips- how will I be able to cool this unit after I fit this PSU like this? Should I build somekind of duct? :worried:

    #1: Hi 2 you and welcome @ bit-tech forums
#2 Your english is understandable :hehe:
#3 Wowsers that's a small and tight fit there for your PSU. But by the looks of your case I'd suggest you put it on the bottom, cut the back out so the hot air can escape through the back.

Other then that I don't think it's smart to put it anywhere else since you have a really tight fit.

Hope you can do something with this info :thumb:

    Hi,

Just my opinion, so no offense intended, but personally i wouldn't put the psu in a case without something encapsulating it, there are scarey amount of voltages flowing through one of those and i certainly wouldn't like the idea of not having the added protection that a psu chassis can bring... of course unless extreme circumstances applied, one example would be a non-conductive tank rig...

    :worried:

Obviously i cant see all your intentions yet, and if there is something im not seeing i appologise.. but i think you might want to re-think the design a little...

Or maybe you could explain your idea a little further...

    :D

i thought a bit about the PSU location and found out good place for it. Actually i decided to use i on the same place, but I'm going to "flip" the whole PCB board. That means all the heatsinks et. will get proper gooling :p
I now have also a reason for cutting my case :)
I'm thinking about fitting 2 same fans above the supply unit.

That should also be the start to my 3-rd small project- Project XE (Xtreme Enlight) :p I'm really looking foward to summer :dremel:

Thanks for the good tips you all :)
