i was talking about the resevoir. I know alot about watercooling, but nothing of chilling. Looks sweet, good luck! I understand you couldn't run it without the compressor, but could you add a radiator into the loop ALONG with the compressor? and only use the radiator during normal usage, or for some reason does having the compressor completely stop the loop. I'm reading up on these, so hopefully that is my last stupid question Mod on!
as told to me in another forum: a radiator would only raise the temperature of the water nearer ambient. basically, the radiator would add heat when chilling, neglecting the usefulness of the chiller in the first place. ( it makes sense... i think )
The black box the res or heat exchanger holds about 1 to 1 1/2 Litres of water so it takes a while to heat the water but it still would get hot without a rad Ok more pics fitted in the mach1 case With the mach 1 covers on
The chiller has been sold off and the chap who is now fitting it to a system is doing some testing here is some initial testing He had to stop due to condensation because of the 8 degrees
1 to 1 1/2 litres??? bloody hell, wondered why it took so long to fill and bleed. this is looking a great mod so far, hope it goes well for you,
@ Vapb400.. that wouldn't be a world record.. If I remember correctly there was a dude who had his over 6 ghz. Not stable at all but still.. Nice idea + I love the temps.. keep up the modding
yeah 6ghz on a p4!!! DUH! a record for AMD 64 maybe i love this, looks really good, downside is the condensation and what not!
4Gig on a AMD64, nice... but don't think that you can run at that speed, Tom H. is the numer 1. i AMD overclocking (my openion), he has a system that cools et dow to -110 C and thats on full load... I think his record i 3.5-3.6Gig on af FX55... BTW. nice cooling...
The guy that now owns the unit is swapping out the tubing for rubber tubing but he didn't have a spare hdd so thats why there is no cpuz or windows so it probably wont be stable lol but he has saved the speed in the bios and rebooted a few times if the cpu didnt like the speeds it wouldnt let you into the bios at all but until he gets a windows instll then no idea on the speeds.... As for insulation the tubing is going to be changed when I ran the setup with the danger den uv reactive tubing I had no condensation at 2 degrees what so ever only on the block ....But for the other parts I am sending him some armaflex tape and pipe covering it will be bulky but it will hold in the cold as well as stop condensation
This is a pretty interesting idea. I'm not much into water cooling, but I think this could be really good. Subscribed.
I followed this on the EP forums, very well thought out and v.practical. Im sure phil is having a lot of fun
yeah, loadsa people have had 6-7ghz (fugger being #1 atm iirc) but not with an AMD64! all those "records" are for an intel based processor, fugger's was with an LGA775 P4 that is a record for an AMD64 but since it doesnt/wont boot into the OS i doubt it can be classed as a working record, so i love the idea though im going to be making a bong cooler over the next few weeks, to see if i can beat my triple rad setup
