Anyone know a good place to do both of these?
I have searched, but not impressed with the web sites I have found.

Ideally, I am looking for somewhere to register a domain name, and use the same company to host my web site.

www.qc1.net - excellent - set up 6 websites and domains there, very good support.

www.fasthost.co.uk - one site so far, excellent package, support not up to qc1 standards, a bit corp.

One and one have always been good for me with domains, haven't tried their hosting packages though.

123reg.co.uk for domains tbh. Have done a fair few domains with them now, never had any problems. Among the faster for name server changes too :)

    Read the small print, eg
That's k1z, others (like 34sp) leave your site up,

I use a new hosting company which has given loads for my money and so much help in getting started with my site. The guy running it must of spent hours helping me and it was all for nothing.

    www.stablehosting.net

    Speed is dam good too.

    i'm a personal fan of www.krystalhosting.co.uk

you can register a domain name through them, and get your hosting. if you pay yearly you get a .co.uk for free as well. and the guy who owns it is pretty much always available on MSN. get great service and a really good uptime too :)

I ended up using Easyspace.com just to get me off the ground.

www.webhost4life.com is decent. I had 3 sites with them a while back but only have two now. Fairly inexpensive too.
