Little update - Gave the backplate etc a quick paint to see if I liked the colour. I think it's a nice contrast to the gold, it's not a final coat...

:D Edit: Go to about 20+ LANS a year, so think I might. Used to have a gaming laptop :( but sold her and my old desktop to fund this project.
Update: Thought I'd show a few pictures of the case when it arrived. It's a really easy case to construct - would note remember to put PCI bracket...
