if you boot from the floopy then it will ask you to insert the cd's
try booting from that
did it come with a floopy disk too as some of them do. make sure you are not missing "press any key to boot"
do we have a make for the pc or is it a coustom build with a ghost disk
the bios may be set to boot from cd but is the drive visible in the bios. if its not then eaither the bios does not show them or it is not...
lets try the more simple approch. if the laptops are using xp home you will not get them to log on to a domain as they cant so you will need xp pro
the first thing i would try is to click this link to get the latest drivers for the sata then i would try again.
try with a different version of windows or xp pro as home does not have domain capabilities
what format are you trying. try different ones
what software are you using to play films and music as it will be down to that program
try changing settings in creative audiohq
you can conect more than one pc to a wireless access point. that is what you will need unless you have broadband and want to get ride of a router...

try booting from xp cd and installing xp as normal as it has alot of sata drivers built in
its maxtor maxblaster on maxtor drives or the are others. look at the drive manufature website for suport software
