I just ordered an AMD R9 390 as an upgrade to my GTX 670, got it for £210 new, it beats the 970 is most games.
Personally I would stick to Pete J's build but with the r9 390 and the green case, an AMD A series is pointless if you are using a dedicated GPU....
The problem is for people who have download caps on their internet, I know of one person who this cost them $90 because it caused them to go way...
