    That's got captive cables! I thought you were insisting on modular?

    The Seasonic units I've linked to will be quieter, more efficient, better built and longer lasting. If you want 600+ watts, you're into a whole different price bracket IMO. You don't NEED that for this build. A 650 unit from Corsair or Seasonic will be more efficient as it will be running less load AND it will give you more room for future upgrades, but then you're talking twice the price we've been discussing....

    I think this is the power supply I have, I bought it last year from yoyotech for about the same price (it is very keenly priced) and I think the 500-550W version got a CPC recommendation, it has braided modular cables which are really nice and comes with a little case to keep unused cable in. Its solid (physically maybe a little light I thought), my computer does not seem to have any power or stability issues. My equipment is previous generation tho (Core 2 Quad Q6700, 2GB DDR2, ATI 4890 OC, 3 hard drives) and I assume your equipment may be slightly more demanding but when I added it all up on a power supply calculator I still had about 30% headroom!

    Just ordered it all now went for:
    scan:-
    4GB XMS3 DDR3 1600MHz RAM
    GA-P55M-UD2
    500GB Samsung f3 spinpoint
    changed case to coolermaster 690 II advanced
    intel i5 760
    1GB EVGA GTX 460

    CCL Computers:
    OCZ Modxstream 600w psu
    Reason for 600w is to be on the safe side, might add more than 3 hdds more fans, and may go into watercooling.

    Total = £660

    That's a great build. I am a fan of the CM690 II Advanced case as well.

    Good luck - let us know how you get on building it.

    Thanks, the buyers guide on bit tech was really helpful, i'm glad i splashed out a bit on the case (well most people on here wouldn't consider it that), it has all the features i want and i'm sure i won't be disappointed.

    Thanks for everybodys help!
