The case will slice you up and most likely be crap for cooling, the PSU will probably explode when you plug it in, and will not sustain the load of this machine. Everything else seems ok.
Dont skimp on the PSU. That ram's 2700, would recommend you get some 3200. Thirdly, the Monitor, 19's still run at 1280*1024 which might look a little strange on the screen. Maybe save some cash and get a 17?
wrong type of ram matey...u need DDR3200..also are you gonna need 2 Gig's worth?? also about the case and psu....buy good quality expensive ones...no ebuyer value stuff...also spend more on a DECENT Psu....otherwise ur machine wont run right.
Another vote for a branded PSU (I'm an antec man myself), and don't worry about the screen, I have one and it's excellent
Get a decent case and a seperate psu - maybe buy Corsair Value memory which is still going cheap and is 2.5. Although 19" tft's run at same resolution as a 17" it sure looks nicer.
Ok, there's no question about voting to get a better PSU -- using that one that comes with the case WILL cause problems - most likely in the form of thick black smoke out of your most expensive component - and MUST be improved upon. I'd suggest an Antec Truepower-II series, 430w or higher for that system. And yes, get DDR400/PC3200 ram. I think you did make the right choice with 2 gigs though, it'll make a huge difference on the newer games. If not overclocking at all even something like Corsair Value Select will be fine... no heatspreaders or fancy stuff but on an A64 you want PC3200 ram minimum. Everything else seems fine. I personally wouldn't bother with the MX1000 but that's preference... I hate how they feel in your hand. My $25 MS Optical intellimouse has been great, has five buttons which is great for switching weapons or whatever in games, and is a third of the cost of that one.
MS Intellimice Cheesecake! As for the spec, definitely scrap the case and PSU. Also pick up some PC3200 ram You can get some pretty nice yet inexpensive cases now, and it's not worth the hassle of slicing your hands up just to save some money, believe me. You need a quality power supply for that system - not generic. My friend actually had a generic "500W" supply explode loudly with a much lower-powered system. You'll stick closer to the budget with a Hiper Type-R, but Antec, Tagan (my personal favourite), Enermax, and Seasonic all make good power supplies as well. 420-480 watts should be fine for that system.
ok good case is a must how about Antec Sonata II Piano Black Quiet Midi Tower with SmartPower 2.0 450W ATX12V v2.01 power supply. is there any issues in getting four sticks of 512 instead of two sticks of 1024 as these work out cheaper, Corsair (VS1GBKIT400) 1024MB (2 x 512MB Matched Pair), DDR400 / PC3200, non-ECC, Unbuffered, CL2.5.
The Sonata is a nice case, you won't be disappointed. As for the RAM, you might find it hard to overclock 4x512 if you're interesting in doing so, and you won't be able to run 1T, but that shouldn't make a massive difference.
4x512mb of RAM will stop you running 1T as stated, so 2x1Gig will be slightly quicker. Plus as stated before, you need PC3200 RAM. A good PSU is a must, something from Antec would be a good choice. The case, anything by Antec is good and the Sonata is a nice looker. As for the mouse I have the MX500 and love it, so if thats anything to go by I would pick from the logitec MX series, not sure if I'd go wireless though, esp if gaming. The TFT, being a 19" gives you a bigger screen but the same resolution as a 17" so it wont be any more detailed, just spread across a bigger surface.
ok is the dfi lanparty nf4 sli dr worth the extra cash over the asus a8n-sli deluxe, also what gets left out if i get a ut board? http://www.anandtech.com/guides/showdoc.aspx?i=2535&p=2
