A contrast of old and new perhaps?

I think it may have been better in colour.
Maybe even with selective colouring or something?

Not sure why or how to explain what I'm thinking in technical terms, but the 'modern' on the right seems out of focus or difficult to see detail in.

Certainly a nice idea though. :)

I think the old cinema should be in colour. Reverse the trend.

I'm not sure this one really works for me. Not knowing what the buildings are, I first thought it was a contrast of round architecture vs. linear architecture. I'm not familiar with the place, and there is nothing to tell me that I'm looking at an old theater or a new apartment building.

The photograph is nice by itself, The tones are pretty good, and I like the light that is falling right on the building in the background. It could very well be level (the absence of a horizon makes it difficult to tell), but the keystoning looks like it might be leaning to the left a bit.

    i recognise that!!
Manchester just by Oxford Road train station!!

the old cinema is a horrible Colour you wouldn't want the colour in.

would have been good if you could have somehow got the Palace hotel in as well (old Sandstone Building for those that don't know) from round the corner then you will have three stages on Contrast

Ah, the good old Corner House. I believe only one of two cinemas in the country in to which you can take your own food.
