ok, me admits that the blorb is crap, because it is either cooling very well, or is conducting heat like a piece of paper. On my GF2 PRO it only gets slightly warm even when running 3dMark2k1.

Does anyone know how this new 1U cooler compares to the new Orange ORB also at The Overclocking Store?

NOOOO!! No Gluing, cant have that on my poor card. :p (lol)

The fan on the orange orb spins faster and moves more air, it's just like the blorb really, but this copper heatsink will pull heat from the chip faster, it's 50x50mm remember, and the heat has les distance to travel.

I'm still very sceptical about the design of the orbs, I personally cannot beleive that heat will actually be conducted up onto the radial fins. I'm sur the only reson the dragon orb works well is the largish copper heatsink at the bottom, I'm sure the blue fins do bu**er all.

I may get me-self an orange orb, because they are in one piece aren't they? It should be good because the blorb failed because it was in two pieces and only soldered in 2 places.

I must have the only blorb that works reasonably well. on my GF sdr it barely gets hot, but i didnt risk one on my northbridge and stuffed a Skt7 heatsink on it like spike.

Id like to see if the Or'orb is any better then the Bl'orb.

nah, can't call it an Ororb, that sounds silly.....

The 1U H/S that this thread is about has the advantage of being as good as the socket 7 hs/fans but it's lower profile so you don't waste another pci slot :)
