Gorgeous! But I feel like the focus should be slightly more forward.

    Is that HDR'd ?
I really should pick your brains about processing effects some time actually..

Back on topic, Nice shot, possibly a little dark but that could be my calibration.

It's not HDR'd, but I did play with contrast, saturation and levels a little.

Great colour, but the out of focus, bright area in the bottom right of the shot is quite distracting.

I'm not a huge fan of the DOF, I think the area in focus would look better if it were closer. It also looks a bit dark. The lighting and shadows are nice though.

Stunnnnnnning shot! But as like everyone else says, the DOF is annoying. The front focus is painful ;)

I tried cropping it, but I feel it removes too much from the shot.
If I get the chance I might go back and reshoot, then again I might not :)

Agreed. Great colors but the crop doesn't do it good. You "need" to be able to follow the road into the horizon. It gets compressed when cropped like above. As others have also said I don't think a larger focus would hurt.

Again... looking at the shot once more I like the way it is. The dof forces you to start moving focus down the road and into the picture. And the shadows are great. :)

Any chance you can re-shoot it yoda?

It is a wonderful shot, did you manage to get out and do it this weekend with the sun?

I personally like the DOF but as the majority of people don't I would listen to them. This is the kind of thing I was expecting for this months theme and I have to say it's brilliant.

I am expecting some good entries from any canadians as well :)

Might as well have called it 'Fall Colors'. I'm sure you meant Autumn :)

Can't add anything to this that others haven't already said - wider DOF, the bottom part of the image should be in focus. TBH, I think it would look excellent with an infinite focus to not lose the detail on the leaves off into the horizon! I feel almost like I'm a stumbling drunk looking at this DOF, only able to see things between 10-20ft from me and everything else is blurry.

A wider DOF would have been nice. You seem to have the hyper focal range spot on for this shot. (I prefer the non-crop.)

I was about to say a hyperfocal would be great, but you shot at 105mm!?

I like the composition and colours but (broken record) a full DOF would be nicer. The path leads the eye in but there's nothing to really see when it wanders through as it's all OOF.

I think the shallow DOF could maybe work, but the bokeh isn't the nicest, it's not very smooth going in to the distance.

The 105mm is likely a sigma lens (or was it Tamron/Tokina?)
