POTM [10/07] River of Life

I was just looking for some good Autumn shots. The content and positioning of the billboard was a pure coincidence. It just fit the scene perfectly.

 

The branches and leaves are really beautiful. I get the link between the billboard and all... but a bit too brainy for me I think
I would love if you could send me (or post) a hi-res crop of the top half that I could use for desktop bg.

Nice pic, however it just doesn't seem very artistic to me. Sorry Nex. Maybe its just going right over my head.

I think you are right about the brainy part... But I wanted to do something different from the usual twee cliches of autumn trees in the mist or fallen leaves on rocks/grass.

The theme is "seasons". Life comes, life goes. It is all part of the river of life (just think "The Lion King". Circle of life and all that crap). The association is reinforced by the autumn tree (symbolising the cycle of life) seeming to spring from the billboard. Well, I thought it was...

 

The top half is really nicely exposed and the colours are great. I think the bottom half detracts from the shot though, it's very distracting.

 

I see now, unfortunately if it needs to be explained (and I'm usually pretty good at catching stuff like that) then I don't think this image will have the hold it needs for it to be successful in the vote.
