If money were no object...what would yours be?

    Mine:

    14 f/2.8 II
    16-35 f/2.8 II
    50 f/1.2
    85 f/1.2 II
    135 f/2
    Sigma 150 f/2.8 Macro
    Sigma 120-300 f/2.8
    400 f/2.8 IS
    600 f/4 IS
    800 f/5.6 IS

Edit: And to be entirely satisfied, a TS-E 90mm for good measure.

    16-35 f/2.8L II
    24-70 f/2.8L
    70-200 f/2.8L IS
10-22 Canon or 10-20 Sigma (maybe the 14mm if I had a FF body)
    Sigma 8mm Fisheye
    MP-E 65mm Macro
    50 or 85mm f/1.2L
    180 f/3.5L Macro

Only eight... if I were to get two others, they'd probably be long telephotos, but I never shoot stuff where I'd want/need a lens that long, at least right now.

Canon 50 f/1.2 and 85 f/1.2 II, although not sure they would get that much use. Handy for low light work

    14-24/2.8
    200-400/4 VR

My dream lens would be all of the above rolled into one. Can't say that I care for switching lenses all the time. It annoys the hell out of me. Once the lens has finally been changed the scene has passed...
So yeah all into one easily portable lens.

    I guess it would be:
10-500 f/1.2 IS with fast AF and very low edge distortion.

The "one lens to rule them all" :)

What you're looking for is a pinhole camera at iso150000 with no noise :)

    Nikkor 200mm f/2

That's pretty much it apart from the 18-200 I already have!

Edit : Forgot the Schneider Symmar Super Angulon 90mm f5.6... wide angle goodness!

    Surely you don't need 10

    16-35 f2.8L II
    28-70 f2.8L
    70-200 F2.8 IS
    400 f4L DO

    does a 1.4x count as a lens?

Theres no need to be humble... The thread's title is DREAM lenses after all. Surely if money were no issue, you wouldn't just buy one.

I'm not sure I'd ever need ten lenses - but I could definitely enjoy:

    70-200L f/2.8 IS USM
    17-55 f/2.8 IS USM
    50-135 f/2.8 (Tokina)
12-24 f/4 (Tokina - no equivalent Canon as the 10-22 is 3.5-5.6 and hits 5.6 by like 14mm)
    35L f/1.4 USM
    100-400L f/4.5-5.6 IS USM
    60 f/2.8 USM Macro

I suppose that's more than I expected - but many of these have good alternatives for a LOT less money. Dropping the f/1.4 on the 35mm brings me from $1150 down to $215, for instance. Sigma makes a decent 135-400 lens for only $500 if you can live without the IS. And Tamron makes a terrific 17-50 f/2.8 (my first purchase) for only $400. ;) The only lens I cannot accept a substitute for is the 70-200.

Soooo...if money were no object, this would be my choice - but being as it is, I'm happy how the alternatives present themselves! :D
