Xbox is 10 Years old today, A pretty impressive feat.
And on the same note, Master Chief and Halo are also 10 years old today.

Think i shall go back to playing Halo CE Anniversary.

And to think I said the Xbox would never take off and Microsoft would struggle to crack the console market in the face of Nintendo and Sony domination. I like being proven wrong.

I really do need to replace my Xbox. Halo CE Anniversary is really tempting. Funds are just a bit tight atm and as I have a small Bluray collection I can't just trade in the PS3 without rendering half my media unplayable.

Happy birthday Xbox. Long may it continue.

That's quite a scary thought, those last 10 years have gone by so quickly. It doesn't feel that long ago when the original XBOX was released!

I don't think I want to remember when the first PS came out, that would be an even scarier thought. Anyway, a good day for gaming! :)

The other scary thought is we are still running a 10 year old system. Innovation went on slow-mo.

Yeah, here's hoping the next batch of consoles come out soon. I'm primarily a PC gamer but I still enjoy playing on my consoles. To be honest though they are starting to struggle power-wise in my opinion.

Only if you're playing on the original xbox.

It feels like I've had an xbox forever, I got mine near the end of 2002 I think when it came free with JSRF and Sega GT 2002 and along with Halo and Splinter Cell as well.

I absolutely loved it. I still have most of the games I bought too. My old xbox is still going strong, unfortunately I'm on my third 360. My original one was a Premium, which I exchanged for an Elite when I thought it might bite the dust soon, but my Elite packed in after just over a year and I had to replace it. I would like one of the nice new 250Gb ones but I can't really justify it when it's still going strong.

Pffft only your third. 8th here if you include my new S model.... :p

If you after a S model get the 4GB model and drop your current HD into it. Presto a S model with all your data intact and £50 saved (plus IMO it looks better being matt black instead of shiny black).

2nd, an old noisy original [which still works aside from the odd stutter and freeze] and my current elite... Red Rings are for other people...

Yeah I've still got my SNES, and a Commodore 64. That was the first computer we had, seeing as I wasn't born when it was released I guess my family weren't really on the bleeding edge of tech back in the day.

I very much enjoyed my xbox. Unfortunately my family getting with the times with the home computer didn't improve and it we never had a particularly good PC. I think only about 5 years ago did I get one with a 3D graphics card. That meant that I had to do most of my gaming on consoles.

I got the Xbox on almost a whim I think, but I'm glad I did, I had the SNES in that generation but after that I moved to Sony and had the PS1 and 2. As soon as I first got the Xbox it took pride of place as my console of choice. The 360 is still my gaming platform of choice at the moment.

I have to admit i am on my 3rd 360 having bought one on day 1 when ever it was released, I've gone through 2 Premiums and now i'm on an Elite. I loved the original xbox because it had the good old Need For Speed, so i was disappointed they never got it working on 360. Still, Lets hope the new xbox (3/720?) will help cement Microsoft further, which in turn keeps Sony and Nintendo going too.

I loved my original xbox, that is what got me into modding. Ripping it apart, putting in windows and loads of led's and led fans.
