you would think they would use the WD1500ADFD as opposed to the Raptor X, with it being faster and cheaper and all though it isnt as leet <nitpick> and NCQ decreases performance in all but heavy usage server environments </nitpick>

Because it's easy to build it into drives, they'll fullfill more purposes with it then without it, and it's another feature to boast.

It's there because it sells the product. In the minds of most people, NCQ gives better performance than without and SATA 3Gb/s doubles the speed of your drive
