Should help cool these beasties. +

You could anodize them blue and call them The Blue Ring of Bill!

    Has a ring to it.

I saw the link to the main page via twitter. Def looks good. I'm curious as to how you were able to drop costs by 50%, but that's probably private info.

Probably faster machining times by better spindle speeds. 20k rpm milling head would dig into aluminum like nothing else.

Did you notice I used black socketed screws in these?

I originally wanted to use pan heads, to save costs, but nobody makes one in #10-32 x 3/16 height, at least that I could find at the time.. The 10-32 socketed ones were the only ones I could get in the right height, but expensive (ie: mcmaster.com) I figured you would appreciate the extra expense tho, saves you the time of trying to find black socketed screws :D

Pffttt. Try black hex button heads. Almost impossible to find, and cost their weight in gold. :( Give a kick-ass clean finish, though.

Wow, sounds like it's even harder in the UK to find these socketed head screws.

I was surprised at how similar this was to my own "porthole" project.

Very cool, I liked those Ultra towers too, I used to make larger window kit version years ago.

I designed the first blowhole fan kit in oct 2004, and started listing them the following spring 2005 web archive link
