ok, all the system temp monitoring programs i can find including the one suplied by my mobo company (MSI Alert 4) say my system is running at 127 degrees.... shouldnt my pc be dead right now? i was wondering if im just being dumb and u have to configure it somewhere or summot
Well, 127°F = 47.2...°C, so my guess is that the program natively displays in Farenheit, rather than what most modders use, Celcius.
What motherboard are you using? I built a computer for my friend using an Asus A7N8X and one of the probes said a temperature was 125c. Obviously this was wrong or else i would doubt the system would boot
A P4 can apparently run at that temperature (I've seen a video somewhere of a p4 that boots windows right up to 130c and then shuts off). I'd check your cooling and see if it makes any difference.
Just check that the software is configured for the correct sensors and probes in your setup, as this happened to me (in MBM software) and I managed to get a readout of 117ºC , however once set to the correct probe/sensor I got a 32ºC temp readout.
its an MSI K7N2 DELTA-ILSR and it is set to display in celcius, ive also used MBM 5 which says the same thing, i tried MBM 5 on all available sensors and it either came up with 0 or 127
Update your MSI Mobo bios. My MSI bios showed dodgy temps till I updated it and that sorted it out #(as well as fixing some memory timmings)
sounds good to me, ill try it wen i have time to sort it out, should be getting a load of new hardware soon to go with my new mobo & processor including a case, i was thinking of getting a coolermaster 710 but not sure if i should get one thats fully alu
