Now that is one interesting mod. Great choice of inspiration and amazing attention to detail. :thumb:

Been watching this one since near beginning and it's one of those "if-any-mod-deserved-frontpage-this-one-is-it" projects. Totally love it.

    Truly hats of o_O

Amazing paintjob as well... I still find it amazing and confusing at the same time, to see someone do special paints like that with no more then very narrow lines of tape.

Any chance there's going to be an article that covers the whole shebang on taping and painting? Some sort of tutorial perhaps? I think that would seriously help the "what's a dremel" members in here (like me, hehe)

Thanks Gordy :) I found the part where he started to paint around page 80... *catching breath*, hehe.

But it doesn't show how it was taped and such :) And that's the part I'm most curious about, since my technical skills are below zero... but my drawingskills are good enough :p

I don't often comment on mods, as few tickle my fancy, but this is fantastic. Nice work, the Ed Roth's bubble car creations bought back some childhood memories and gave me googling material! :) I used to collect toy cars that had this look in the 70's. :hip:

Superb build quality, but the design is a bit too everything for my taste :) Nice project!

Now thát's fantastic :D I'm already waiting with my 100 sorts of tape and bandages (for when I cut my fingers trying to cut the tape, hehehe).

To the modder of this StarWars Pod (first thing that came to mind): more pics please ;) It looks truly awesome!

    Wow.

That has got to be one of the best mods I've ever seen, if not the best. Easily up there with the very best.

Built quality is excellent, paint job is superb, and the concept is completely original, I love it!

    Excellent work!

I love the eccentricity of it. If you're going to do an artistic mod - rather than a practical mod - then you might as well go all out.

Favourite mod for a while. :dremel:

    Thanks, y'all...

A quick answer... you lay down three strips of tape right next to each other, then pull the center one... you've now got a perfectly layed down stripe... tape off one side and you've now got two areas divided by two stripes, one of each color. :hip:

I'll cover the details next time I paint... probably the keyboard.
