Still overpriced imo - but waiting it out for the next set of DX10 cards.

There are a few things that are good cheap.
    • Cars
    • Dates
    • PC stuff
I can not complain about anything getting cheaper unless i am trying to resell it, :D

Gee. Thanks for (what'll likely be here, eventually) $50 off a $900 board...

This will be anióther nail in AMD/ATI's coffin i suppose.. Unless they have something up their sleeve. Which I hope to my hearts content.

Hmm...as I understand it, the Ultra is already more energy efficient than the standard GTX -- I think, even at its higher stock clock speeds, the Ultra is supposed to use about 1 Watt less than the stock GTX under load.

So...I wonder how much power you could save if you UNDERclocked an Ultra down to (or below) GTX frequencies (so it'd draw even less power). Of course, then you'd be paying more for a slower card...but you'd be saving power, if that's worth a premium to you...

and no offense here, but if you're putting an 8800 card into a system that's built for "maximum power saving" you need a few good, hard hits to your head.

    Makes me concerned about ATI.

    I
m pretty sure they've been behind since the 6600gt. 6600gt was the greatest mid range card IMO.

how about a fantastic Gforce 9800 card that consumes *gasp* 42 watts on load and rapes the 8800 and costs about 350$?

    power saving?
    yes
    powerful?
    yes
    ideal?
    yes
    would rape ATI/AMD?
maybe, why? and if ATI/AMD make this sooner as a X3800XXXX?

Need i point out the irony in Nvidia calling the next card the 9800 if ATI/AMD still haven't sorted their lives out. :D
