"Maybe the recording industry should change its focus and go after those who actually make money from pirating music and movies instead of going after individuals like it currently does."

I totaly agree. But they probably are scared to dead for real criminals then your little sister with her mp3 collection..

Its a small step forward, but its also possibly 2 steps back, as another factory will start up in this ones place.

Piracy is everywhere across our world.
People alway prefer to cheap things.
It's most probably that the piracy would last a very long time.

Where do they get this ********?! Ok I understand the big crime part about a piracy factory, thats just insane, but heck, why do they associate them to homicides and drug dealers and thieves?

Good stuff this raid. These sorts of ops should be busted and focused on more often.

Did they say DVD press, as in proper silver DVD's??

...ooo fancy. Not like that pic doing the rounds (the one with a room full of towers each full of DVD burners)

but if one pirate can get hold of a press then another can too.

Course the industry likes to mix up everything and get some bad press for file sharing this way too.
BUT - We really need to understand that these kind of professional activities ARE certainly often connected to professional criminals. Some people just don't care where their money comes from, and while you certainly MAY NOT compare the small "DVD dealer" to the small drug dealer, the big guys behind such an operation (you need some knowhow to get such a fab running after all) are more likely than not involved in some other criminal activities.

"People alway prefer to cheap things."

if people preferred cheep things there would only be cheep things. its just that smart people know what the vale of things are. A purse is NEVER worth $10,000, sneakers are never worth $300, a suit is never worth $100,000.... just like us that build computers instead of paying the $14,000 (falcon had one this much) for a computer that could be built for under $4,000 (with even better liquid cooling). you try and explain how labor to put it together is worth $10,000.
