This article seems to be suspiciously similar to the one by the same name in CPC issue 66...

It is an updated version following the updates Valve pushed out the day the magazine was published, essentially making a lot of the guide outdated because it included details on how to use bugs to your advantage in some respects.

    couple of things

    under the M16 explanation

    50+360=480?

I have to disagree with the scoring, you get a points bonus for every health pack picked up, so if your at full hp and have a pack already, you can use the one you have and get points for picking the one you've found. So it's in your best interest to try to pick up every health pack you come across whether or not you need it or not.

In defense of closeting survivors there is a game-ender that the infected have. This tactic can be used anywhere, My friends and I do it often when we want an easy win. Everyone stays in spawn mode, except boomer who suicides until they spawn hunter, then pounce, pull, pounce, pounce. If the survivors are in a closet, and the Infected can successfully get a hunter in and stagger the survivors that's the end of the match.

    Pretty damned thorough!

I wish there was more on the painful rage quitting. It's all but wrecked the game for me. We can't seem to play a decent game without someone calling us fags or cheaters and then leaving. There needs to be a player rating system!

Very comprehensive. Though one tactic missing- creeping, where in campaign you turn lights off and walk, managing to get past crowds of infected without losing health

If you do that and don't fire, then the special infected can't see your outlines in Versus either. you can often catch them unawares.

    are you sure about this?
i've definately seen cvars in the game related to witch flashlight activation range
best i can tell is the range at which you can set her off is much higher if you point a flashlight at her

Need to spend some time building up a good friends list on steam. I've quit public games in favour of the friends only for that very reason. One person leaving in this game ruins it for the rest in verses.

And here I was thinking the way to play L4D was so simple:
    1) Find a corner.
    2) Melee.

    Silly me.

Other important things for smokers - if you're reloading / can't see the smoker that's constricting someone / can't hit the tongue / whatever - you can free the constricted person by meleeing them (the survivor).

Seems pretty good guys - lots of this stuff you just pick up by playing I guess.

pretty good guide, some of these tactics will find their way into my play for sure.
The one thing missing in this guide is a list of enemies. While reading, it just strikes me that you assume that a reader knows what each enemy is called.

One question though... this is yet another front page article written by a non-staff member. Not to be sour or anything, but i do hope that Bit-Tech will not become a platform for Dennis employees to post whatever they feel like. Both this article and the TIM-applying one are a bit out of the way from what Bit normally publishes.

"You can lay them as traps and shoot them as infected hordes sun past" I think you mean "run"?

Yep, that's in there under 'Annoying Tactics'.

How dare you sir! I'm not a Dennis employee. *tuts*

Yep, definitely sun. Running is too passe for a zombie apocalypse.
