Not sure about how much I trust that handle design, but the case looks nice!

That handle looks very easy to snap.

Case looks about as sweet as the initial prototype, but that handle is a no-go.

Is the size of the case known at this point?

EDIT: Story linked to is now gone? DNP means "do not post"? :p

If the handle is made from metal it's probably not that easy to snap.

We pulled the original story because BitFenix changed the NDA date (by a MONTH!), but it's back up now with some changed details as the company will now launch TWO Survivor cases.

It kind of reminds me of PowerMacs.

I like the look of the case, but those curves eat up the amount of length at the top/bottom of the case for a radiator to be installed. I'm not sure how necessary a handle is - it's not like I have a problem just carrying my PC.

The paint (or powder coat or whatever it is) is "stain resistant". Hands up, how many people have ever managed to stain their computer before!?

I have to agree with this. It looks like a cheap suitcase. Mind you, it's better than an Antec lanboy

I've always wanted a handle on my LianLi mid...it's neither bulky nor heavy, but the lack of good hand-holds on the sleek case still make the bi-weekly trips to the living room to watch something on the big screen a bit of an asspain. In bit-tech fashion, i've jerry-rigged a rope netting to carry it around, but it's a less-than-ideal solution. Provided this handle isn't shite, I think it's a cool idea.

And the paint is specifically listed as "stain resistant" because, as the article mentions, it's not just anodized aluminum or cheap-ass plastic. It's a soft-touch polyeurathane coating, which some people think can be stained because it seems...uh...fabricky.

I think I'm going to buy the core for my next build. I like it a helluva lot, and i'm a sucker for soft-touch surfaces.

I still dont like it when companies use terms like survival or rugged in their case titles when it doesnt live up to such. So far Im not impressed with this company, they made better looking cases before they went off onto their own. Oh well I will give it some more time and wait and see.

Im guessing the coating will be something similar the finish on my old nicolai lambda, which was 'rubbery' if it is is seriously rugged stuff, I dont know what it was but when i wanted it painting a new colour the paintshop couldnt get it off even when they tried to bead blast it!

Im liking the overall look, not really bothered about the handle though tbh, I can see this making a great case for a secondary PC providing the cooling holds up.

I wonder what the difference is between the "Core" and the full version.

I want to mod a backwards facing D-shaped window in the side. But at a cash strapping (relative) £85 I'm not sure I'd dare.

If Bit-tech are gonna review this case then needs to one of those 'as it comes and as it could be if you brought all the the fans' type of reviews.

I think that actually looks pretty awesome. Handle looks like tubular steel to me, would definitely make life easier if it's decent.

Also absolute +1 to adding in all the fans possible for a portion of the review, who doesn't have a few 120s knocking about somewhere? Haven't been very many new cases I've liked the look of enough to consider spending that kind of money, this might be a new beginning for me :worried:
