We then ramped the CPU multiplier back up to 20x and dropped the QPI to 200MHz, giving our test processor a frequency of 4.4GHz

    EH ?

dunx can add up, this is incorrect...

Sexy board, performance to back it up. Like it. I can see a whole wave of mil-themed mods incoming though. :p

I love it when a bit of kit like this comes along- good performance, good features, the right price. Wasn't taken by the colours at first, but I think it would fit well with my next mod...

I've got a genuine army issue grenade case in the shed. This mobo would make a brilliant base for a military style mod. I may just build myself the worlds most powerful but impractical laptop.

I did wonder about the chipset temps with no active cooling.

Are there any aftermarket fans you can attach to it?

Did Asus use a playing card in the making of this board, as it look's a little bendy in one of your pictures.

I think I was a little over zealous when I was tightening the bolts on the Titan Fenrir we use to test  Didn't seem to affect the board at all though.

Ordered me this little Beast with the i7 950 after reading about it in CPC the day I was about to order everything, promptly changed the mobo to this!

Just wish the PSU would come in stock so can build the new Monster!!

I won the Sabertooth 55i from the blogging competition after the Asus XGS, and I have to say the board is awesome. It's good to see Asus have made the X58 version even better. I didn't expect it to do nearly as well as it did, especially for the price.

Great looks, great price, and great performance; what more can you want? Kinda surprised to see that it does not come with power and reset buttons on the board though, since my 55i version does. Must have taken them off to save costs I guess.
