What's your preferred view for playing games?
I am a big 1st person view fan. I find 3rd person often takes up too much screen real estate and removes some of the jeopardy in certain games where you can literally see around corners.

First person makes me queasy these days. Third person isn't so bad. I voted "other," though, as my favourite viewpoints are classic isometric or fixed-camera point-and-click. Plus text adventures, of course!

It really depends on the type of game I guess. Anything focused mainly on guns or shooting needs to be first person. For puzzle-y games like Tomb Raider, third person is good. For RPGs I prefer top down or isometric, not necessarily fixed camera though.

I like games where you can flick between first and third.

PUBG that I have put way too much time into has first and third person options.
The TDM games are third person by default, but you can switch to first person in game, losing the TPP peeking advantage though

    It depends?

    FPS for....erm shooty FPS
    Third person for action/platform/RPG/racing
    Top down for RTS
    Whichever way for Space RTS
Classic and platformer for side scroll

So how should I vote? This poll is worse than political voting!

Not a Fortnite player myself but I did like the switching option in things like Skyrim and FO4 (not sure Starfield is the same?)

Cyberpunk I'm happy playing that first person, bike riding satiates my third person needs in that.

That's the thing isn't it. Definitely first person for FPS, RPGs I like to be able to switch ideally but you're correct, it changes depending on the game and genre.

Funnily thinking about it I think it changes depending on platform too.

Playstation, I don't think I could play first person on that. TR, Horizon series, RDR and so on - all third person for me.

First person would have to be on PC really, it may just be because I'm closer to the screen.

I struggle with some 1st person games they tend to trigger bad headaches. So i tend to go for 3rd person if i can.

Skyrim is the exception to the rule waited yesrs for it then couldnt play it either 3rd or 1st it just triggered violent headaches no matter what. Yet fallout 4 no issues and they arr apparently the same engine.

A few other games do to its odd not sure why some do over others. The only 1st person game i have sunk hours into is cyber punk.

When I first fired up Cyberpunk it made me feel awful, maxing the FoV out seemed to negate it for me thankfully.

I didn't know this, but what did put me off of "diving" into 2 was the different perspective to 1 in all screenshots/videos I saw. Just didn't like the change.

    I'm abstaining.

Too hard to choose. For example, Dead Space wouldn't be the same as an FPS. And if I'm playing some sort of sim type game (Mechwarrior, Star Citizen etc), it just feels wrong to be in third person, like I'm cheating or something.

i miss Pubg tbh, when it started out it was fantastic, but then it had a massive explosion in cheating, they were banning hundreds of thousands of accounts a month and it just made you question every kill, even innocent ones because draped in paranoia

Like most people it really depends on the game
Racing games i can play 1st or 3rd, but games like Tomb raider, metal gear solid i prefer third, while games like Call of Duty ( though i only play the old ones ) i prefer first

1st person. I don't know if it's only seeing out of one eye, but 3rd person makes everything wrong. For shooters I can't hit anything at all in 3rd person. Nothing is where I think it is.
